Do What you Gotta Do - Words of a CERTAIN Woman

The day after, four years ago, the next day, is very vivid.  Mom is gone, physically.  What now? It is the thirty-first day of the eighth month in the year R&R (ReCover and ReStore).  I found out, that when your mother departs from this life...your entire life changes.  No Regrets...I am glad I showed her love, glad I gave her flowers, glad I arose and called her blessed.  Most importantly, I am happy for her Words.  In one converstation my Mom had with a dear friend, this young lady was going through a very difficult life situation.  Husband had left, she had the children, the saga goes on and on.  She talked to Mom about all of it.  She spent at least thirty minutes sharing from her heart.  After she was done, she said, mother, what should I do, what can you give me from your ocean of wisdom and life experience to help me get through this?  I need a word, I need a plan, I'm listening.  Well, Mother Martha, this CERTAIN Wo...

No Regrets -- Words of a Certain Woman

Today was the day, in August 2007 that My Mom transitioned from her earthly journey to the ever after.  It is the thirtieth day of the eighth month in the year R&R(ReCover&ReStore).  I am grateful today for her living example and the words of wisdom and  encouragement that left her lips and fell on listening ears. Many conversations with my Mom are enabling me to cope with life's challenges today.  The pain of her physical absence is still felt, but the fruit of her labor of love is evident and keeping me strong.  Her ability to simply forgive and move on, her actions towards everyone, even those who (it seemed to me) had wronged her.  How do you live a life without even attempting to "get them back"?  How do you go on without having a pity party for yourself after what you had to go through because of someone else?  No Regrets !  My Mom could have had many, but she said she had none.  In a conversation with my sister, ...

A Life Remembered--The Late, Great, Martha Stanley

Today my friends, it is the twenty-ninth day of the eighth month in the year R&R(ReCover&ReStore).  I am dedicating this week to the memory of a woman who inspired me to be all that I can be.  Martha Stanley February 23, 1937-August 30, 2007 (three score and ten). Everyday I see her handprints on my heart, in my daily activities, in my thoughts, my actions, as I seek a closer walk with my heavenly father.  A Life that was a living sacrifice, not seeking her own pleasure but Gods.  Her incredible resilient spirit, her tenacity, her humble demeanor could have only come from God.  She was like an ignition for purpose.  She created reasons for others to rise up and do something.  Unprecedented events, this single mother sponsored and each one was a success.  She brought out talents and abilities in people they often did not realize was there.  In the face of pressure, she did not flintch, when oth...

A Good Thing -- for the Hungry

Greetings to my sisters, friends and foes, how blessed we are to be in health and strength.  It is the twenty-sixth day of the eighth month in the year R&R(ReCover&ReStore).  A Good Thing, is still ringing in my spirit.  I continue to appreciate the goodness of God towards me.  While reading in the Gospel of Luke, Mary reminds us of the mercy and grace of God.  She confirms his goodness as she declares that He filled the hungry with Good Things...(Luke 1:53).  The Beatitudes remind us that if we hunger and thirst after righteousness, we shall be filled.  It is  A Good Thing to be filled, to be satisfied, content, not wanting.  I was hungry, blind, and lost, it is A Good Thing to be filled, seeing and found.  Sometimes in the midst of adversity, we can forget about the Good Things in our lives.  We can get distracted and spend so much time and attention on  those few difficulties we are faced with.  But, tod...

A Good Thing? A Good Thing.!!

My friends, I remain excited about life, but I must admit, today, seemed to be a cloudy day in my spirit.  It is the twenty-fourth day of the Eighth Month in the year R&R(ReCover&ReStore).  A Good Thing is the theme this week.  As you may know, when you begin to speak those things, precious promises, not yet manifested blessisngs, by faith, as though they are, you may experience resistance, push back, adversity.  These tenacious acts of faith may invoke doubt and maybe even sometimes fear during the process.  What would you fear.  The unknown?  Even as I write this blog today, I stand in the middle of an unfamiliar place.  I feel both pain and joy, but I know that overall it is A Good Thing .  I have questioned myself often, both my actions as well as my reactions.  A Good Thing ?  I ask myself the question.  Though it is rhetorical, somewhere within myself, I still need an answer.  ...

A Good Thing - To Give Thanks

Greetings to all of you, my friends, sisters, foes and family.  It is good to be here...alive and well.  Today is the twenty-third day of  the eighth month in the yearR&R(ReCover&Restore).  I am still discussing A Good Thing .  So many references in the scripture to this term.  Today, we consider David again, his quest to please such an incredible God.  Just as David did, we are striving for perfection, wanting to return the love that has been so graciously bestowed upon us.  What shall we render? What is compatible to the bountiful blessings we receive daily.  For all the Good Things David said, Thanks , adoration, appreciation is A Good Thing to give unto the Lord.  With the fruit of our lips, with the lifting of our hands with a dance and a song.  It is A Good Thing to Give Thanks .  As we walk and live each day, our lives should be a testament of the blessings and favor of God.  Paul suggested that we should...

Affliction, A Good Thing?

My friends, foes and family, I am excited today, I am alive!  It is the twenty-second day of the eighth month in the year R&R(ReCover&ReStore).  So much comes to mind when I think about  A Good Thing .  It is usually those things that are so obvious, the sunshine, the beautiful flowers, wealth, prosperity, etc.  But, while exploring  the Word, I discovered that Affliction can also be categorized as A Good Thing .  REALLY...?REALLY.  While reading in the book of Psalms David expressed that Affliction brought him to a better place of reverence for the law of God.  A few verses later, David said that He was afflicted by the faithfulness of God.  Affliction is a condition of great distress, pain, grief or suffering.  It could also be a trial to test patience or endurance.  I pondered in my mind the words of the King, It is Good for Me that I have been Afflicted , so that I might learn thy statutes.  Troub...
